Overview

Jeff Gothelf is a coach, consultant, author, and former member of the Circus. He gives impactful speeches to leading companies worldwide, and empowers teams with a spark of inspiration and fresh new perspective.  He had built his brand in the Product Design and Lean UX spaces over the past decade after stepping away from his corporate job, and wanted to enter a new territory: career change for professionals.

Problem

Entering as a thought leader into the Career Change for Professionals space with individuals already well entrenched into their career, Jeff needed to define his mission and messaging. Career change was part of his story — a story he had never shared, and didn’t know if his message would resonate with his audience. While entering this new audience, he was also launching a book, Forever Employable to help individuals deep in their career who had hit their ceiling.

Strategy & Execution

To amplify Jeff’s mission and get his new book into the hands of his audience, we worked with Jeff to build a landing page to help drive awareness and capture emails to his email list. In preparation for his new book launch, we built a book launch community of 700+ members and nurtured the group with private content, one v one SMS messaging, and activated their engagement and interest across social media platforms. To promote this outreach even more, we aligned with various PR outlets and placed Jeff in 10+ opportunities to share his message around people who represented the Forever Employable mission mindset outside of Jeff’s platform.

Implementation & Results

In anticipation of the launch Jeff’s new book, we introduced him to BW Missions’ internal network that would be guests on a series of interviews and stories from people from all different professions who have created a platform for themselves to make them “forever employable” including Tara Schuster, Nir Eyal, and Stephen Shedletsky. Through social sharing everyday on LinkedIn and Twitter, and the promotion of his interviews, Jeff amassed over 900,00+ views, across over 6 months. Hundreds of copies of Forever Employable were sold and received 40+ glowing reviews on Amazon bringing it to become an Amazon Bestseller. The integration of a grassroots community and high level contacts who represented his mission, further amplified his impact to hundreds of thousands of viewers.
