Overview

As the Best-Selling Author of Hooked, Public Speaker and Consultant, Nir Eyal had been able to grow a following on social media. His work had been shared on the main TED Stage, and featured in the largest publications. However, there was one issue, after sitting down with the co-founder of Morning Brew, Austin Rief, it became apparent that he didn’t know how to activate his audience and drive his community while sharing content from his work in an engaging way. When his next book Indistractable was ready to hit the market, he needed to build and drive content and community efforts effectively to get people excited about his book.

Strategy & Execution 

We wanted to activate Nir’s audience that he had built over the years. We also wanted to learn how to feed the audience with compelling contentBy piecing content in a recurring fashion across Twitter & LinkedIn and curating social posts from his first book Hooked, we leveraged social listening and inbound marketing tools to share his subject matter expertise in the product development space. This new community of product managers prepared us for Indistractable’s launch. In this phase, we built a book launch community of 800+ and provided special, exclusive content for its members, driving post engagement through tactile SMS messaging. To maintain the launch’s growth, our content and PR efforts narrowed on this new book and the management of Nir’s accounts.

Results

Through these efforts,Nir’s thought leadership has amassed millions of views, garnered hundreds of reviews, and captured an engaged community whose members continuously follow and engage with his work. With consistent outreach, content, and leveraging his social channels and audience, we were able to achieve placements on dozens of podcasts, 500+ Amazon reviews, an increase of 45k new followers, thousands of books sold, and 40+ PR placements.
